On December 28, 2025, the well at the cemetery finally gave out on us. To my knowledge this well was placed in the early 1950s. It has served the cemetery well over the years.
As a Special District Cemetery, we receive a very small portion of Property tax money to help alleviate the low-cost burial we provide to Temecula taxpayers.
Had we not had a well to maintain the lawns and had to operate on city water, our lawns would not be as green and lush as we are able to keep them. The cost to the District of paying a water bill would certainly be detrimental to our operations and budget.
At the beginning of February, we were able to secure a State Certification Permit through the county then immediately retained the services of Stehly Brothers to dig a new well.
The process was long, loud and stressful as we continued to drill deeper to locate water.
On 03/19/2026 we finally struck water at 380 feet.
This process has taken a toll on our lawns as the early extreme heat has shown no mercy. Please be advised that there will be another 1-2 weeks before the well is running properly.
In the meanwhile, we have reached out to our fertilization company, they are ready to start pumping the juice needed to expedite the greenery of the lawns. Please be patient with us as we transition back to where we were in December.
Thank you
